Supporting Success at Home: The Role of Visual Supports

Join us for an interactive, hands-on session where you’ll learn how visual tools can make daily routines smoother and help your child feel more confident and independent.

Date: Friday, April 10th, 2026

Location: South Area Alternative Learning, 2175 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, Florida

We’ll explore simple strategies like first/then boards, choice boards, and schedules that reduce stress and support learning at home. During the workshop, you’ll create your own visuals tailored to your child’s needs, so think about the challenges your child faces at home. Come ready to make practical tools you can start using right away!

FDLRS East Partnering for Progress: A Family Series

Join us for a three-part learning series designed to empower families with tools, strategies, and support to help every child thrive.

Dates: February 5th, March 12th, April 9th

Session 1: Accommodations: Tools for Success - Learn how accommodations help students with disabilities access learning in meaningful ways.

Session 2: Executive Functioning: Building Skills for Learning - Explore how skills like organization, focus, and self-control affect learning. Walk away with simple, actionable strategies to help your child strengthen these skills at home and school.

Session 3: FLIP IT!: Turning Challenges into Growth - Discover a four-step, strength-based approach for helping children manage emotions and build self-control. Gain practical tools for turning everyday challenges into opportunities for growth and connection.
